Installation Details - The Original Rainwater Pillow is installed in a greenhouse used by the horticulture students at the college. The primary objective of installing the system is to reduce the large municipal water demand required for plant growth and maintenance. An additional benefit is the warmer temperature of the water stored in the pillow promotes better plant growth during the winter months. Also, the pillow provides thermal benefits inside the greenhouse during both the summer and winter months by helping to reduce temperature extremes.

The rainwater is collected off the roof of the greenhouse and pre filtered before entering the pillow. A remote control activated pump is used to distribute the water as needed. The Original Rainwater Pillow is a great storage unit for a greenhouse because it can be custom manufacture to fit any availble space under a planting bench. The students can visually see how much water is being used which is indirectly teaching them water conservation.
